The “All About Kids“ Festival is an annual event held each April during the blue ribbon campaign of Child Abuse Prevention Month. This event honors Tuscaloosa’s children and celebrates the role of children in our community while bringing awareness to the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.
This year’s event was bigger and better with lots of food, beverages, demonstrations, contests, games and activities for children and families to enjoy together. The event included music with a local DJ; musical instruments; bouncers; climbing wall; games; balloons; magic; face painting; arts and crafts; milking cow game contest, wing eating contest; cupcake walk; petting farm animals, horseback rides; retail food/sales vendors; various information tables provided by local agencies/businesses; special guests/characters including Jesica Ahlberg (Ms. Alabama), Lee Garrison (Tuscaloosa City Board of Education Chair), Grant Enfinger (NASCAR/ARCA race car driver), and, the Chick-Fil-A cow; showcase displays including an ambulance, fire truck, police cruiser, motorcycle, helicopter, and more. The evening concluded with a moment of silence and remembrance for children that will longer be able to share happy moments with friends or family and be a part of the community. The admission was free as was much of the activities which provided a stress free atmosphere. There were lots of smiling faces, families holding hands with their children, and the weather was fantastic! The event was a wonderful success! We look forward to making next year’s event even better!
Thank you to each of the sponsors, businesses, organizations, volunteers, special guests, and, of course, the families who helped to make this event a success! Hope to see everyone next year!
Special thanks to Grant Enfinger, NASCAR/ARCA Race Car Driver, for a personal appearance!!!
